Yesterday one of our members talked about writing a letter to an imaginary friend. It was her way of articulating where she is at right now spiritually. She shared a link to the post in our secret Facebook group. It was a good read!
I’ve done this many times. Writing a letter is a great way to collect your thoughts and get them down in a calm and orderly fashion. You don’t have to actually send it to anyone. It could just be to yourself!
I find writing a letter, even if it is buried in my journal for my eyes only, is a great way to bench mark where I am right now, what I really want to say, how I really want to be perceived. It’s like hammering a stake in the ground and saying, “This is me right now! Take it or leave it!”
Try it. Write a letter.
