The other day I saw someone’s update on Facebook (not TLS!) that read something like this:
“Thinking about feeling sad? Thinking about feeling discouraged? Instead, think about being happy and encouraged!”
And there lies the problem! So many lives are lived through the ever-present Editor in Chief. The Editor in Chief’s throne is found in the dead center religion. We can’t even just feel sad. We have to think about it first.
What if we just felt and didn’t think about it? What if, for a change, we simply allowed our feelings to birth and emerge without second-guessing ourselves or trying to kill them or trying to transmute them into something more palatable?
I suggest that when we live more directly rather than submitting everything circuitously through the Editor in Chief first we would have far more real, interesting and transformative lives.
