Meet Kenetha Stanton. She was raised in the the Southern Baptist church. She ain’t there no mo! She’s come a loooooooong way.

Near the end of the interview, I asked Kenetha, “If someone asks you, ‘Do you believe in God?’, how do you answer that?” I thought her reply was very wise:

“It probably depends on who asks. But if you’re asking: I do believe in God in the sense that I do believe there is a Divine that is bigger than human. I am very agnostic about whether I believe that this God is an anthropomorphic, personal something. I tend to resonate more with the idea of the Ground of Being.”

She also, when talking about the subject of “God”, prefers to use the word “Divine” because it is more gender neutral.
