I remember a few years ago I read through the Old Testament book of Joshua in one sitting. I was first of all overwhelmed with the violence. But I was also very impressed with how many times the phrase “Do not be afraid” was said. This is always something that is said to someone who is afraid or who is about to be.

Fear is the greatest inhibitor to growth. Unfortunately, religion has become a its master wielder.

Something is calling you. Maybe something is even pushing you. But do you feel yourself heading into a new place? Or maybe you feel yourself being dragged? Do not be afraid. Dismiss the fear mongering echoes of idle threats. Deafen your ears to the fearful naysayers. Disregard the taunts of the stuck.

They have no idea what amazing promise this new land holds for you.
