One of the greatest skills to develop is the ability to critique the systems we are a part of. It shows humility, honesty and wisdom to refuse to automatically accept as truth the norms we are given.
There are many of you on The Lasting Supper who are developed in and developing this skill. I love reading your posts because it shows that you are not afraid to investigate the foundations and inspect the roots.
Have you read the post, “Christendom”? It engages in this exercise of investigating the presuppositions. There’s a good list compiled of just some of these norms that many people assume are true without question.
