My preferred kind of reading is material that is way over my head. It makes me think and fires up my imagination.
But every once in a while I read something that is just downright inspirational. Because… well… you know… every once in a while I need an encouraging kick in the ass. Like everyone else I know, I have issues around certain issues and sometimes a keen incisive comment can cut through the crap and give me just the insight that I need. I never agree with everything inspirational authors say, and sometimes I hardly agree with what they say. But they all have something to say and sometimes there’s some real good in it.
So a good friend of mine loaned me Marianne Williamson’s, “The Law of Divine Compensation: On Work, Money and Miracles”. Basically she takes this statement by Albert Einstein’s and expands upon it:
“The most important decision we make is whether we believe we live in a friendly or a hostile universe.”
It’s a fast and inspirational read.
