I wrote on my other site that I am amazed at how important some issues seem when you are immersed in a certain culture. But once you extricate yourself from that culture, after a while you realize that those issues that were so important are totally irrelevant.

Like the issue about homosexuality. Or women. Or inerrancy of scripture. Or tithing. Or a whole host of things. They just lose their importance when you are no longer a part of a community that promotes ancient ideologies.
