I got up early this morning. As usual. I finished posting today’s cartoon. The sun was just rising over the trees in my backyard so I went on my back deck and smoked my pipe as the sun rose. The sky was clear blue. No wind. Very still and peaceful and clean.

So I decided to start today fresh and pure and clean like this winter sunrise. I chose to think of those things in my life that are fresh and pure and clean and to feel thankful for them.

My day so far.

And that was enough to fill my heart with gratitude.
