My wife Lisa picked up a book many years ago that she still highly values by Sister Joyce Rupp, a member of the Servite community, “Praying Our Goodbyes”.

A common theme in all of our lives is grief. We have all had to say goodbye, we’ve all experienced loss, we all have had to let things go.

This book can help you recognize, ritualize, reflect on and re-orient yourself… to help heal the hurts caused by goodbyes and the anxieties encountered by change.

Just last night in one of our vibrant chatrooms there were a few people who were in the middle of grief because their boyfriend or girlfriend broke up with them. The impact is huge. Sometimes loss is immediate and traumatic. Sometimes it is gradual but just as traumatic. Whatever the case, loss, grief, sorrow and learning to let go is a normal part of our lives.

Did you see my more humorous take on letting go today?
