I’ve met Robin Mark, @matt. I was totally into that whole loop.

@ Matt- I love that song too.

I really enjoy Kim Walker-Smith- she’s vibrant & laughs while she sings. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3Z80_GLDKU

She bubbles with joy. One of my favs is ‘Dance’ written by Suzi Yaraei -it’s on her Praise is Beautiful album- and she hands the mike over to Kim Walker who finishes the song- it’s a precious moment, but I can’t find that version on youtube. I enjoy the way Kim sings it better- little more passionate… she just belts it out.

The other day someone sent me a link to this Hillsong worship song, “Oceans”. I don’t know what it is about me, but some songs just grab me. I can’t seem to shake some praise music. The singer of this song has a liquid voice, JillJill McCloghry:

During my deconstruction phase I discovered the Dave Matthews Band (where had I been all these years?!)  His sax player had died a couple years earlier and their new (at the time) album dealt with a lot of religious BS – good timing for me.  I was hooked.  From their latest album, comes another one that is right on for me at this point in my journey – Drunken Soldier.  It brings affirmation for where I’m at now – in the brutally honest sense – and I love it.  Maybe some others might enjoy…here are the lyrics and video.

    Lyrics:

    Keep your head up
Try and listen to your heart
    Be kind always, no matter
    We all grow up
    And someday well say goodbye
So shine your light while you got one

Make the most of what you’ve got
Don’t waste time being trying to be something you’re not
Fill up your head and fill up you heart and take your shot
Don’t waste time trying to be something you’re not

Once round just once so take your shot
Don’t waste time trying to be something you’re not
Fill up your head and fill up your heart cause that all we got
Don’t waste time trying to be something you’re not

    Through your window
That’s one way to see the world
Step outside and look back into
    Look and listen
And you decide what to believe
Shine your light while you got one

And make the most of what you got
Don’t waste time trying to be something you’re not
Fill up your head and fill up your heart and take your shot
Don’t waste time trying to be someone you’re not
