It’s a very strange rant against people who write or talk about spiritual abuse… strange because the writing sounds familiar as well as the name “pastor boss”. There’s something unsettlingly weird about it, like I have a feeling I’ve had a run-in with this person before. Thanks for pointing it out.

March 21, 2013 at 8:53 pm #8535Dr. Brene Brown was on Oprah this last Sunday (Super Soul Sunday). She talks about vulnerability and this exact issue. This blog poster is not even in the arena. The language he uses is insightful:
1. attacks on Biblical authority has flooded the internet, particularly among liberal and feminist bloggers who have an ax to grind with pastors who faithfully teach the Bible.
2. written by a woman who defeated a pastor in a lawsuit, and consists mostly of her rubbing that fact in repeatedly.
3.this is what finally pushed me to do it: all these accusations against godly men
4. Spiritual abuse is a term that is typically thrown around by bitter, jealous, and disgruntled church attendees
5. former leaders who could get not get their way and so feel the need to throw a public temper tantrum, thus revealing themselves to be divisive, deeply unloving people.
Dr. Brown quotes Theodore Roosevelt, “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.”

I don’t get the impression they know scripture well and I’m thinking they are a victim of S.A. themselves. Defending their leaders maybe? Who knows- I’m making it up at this point but that’s the impression I get
